Let me introduce myself, my name is Dawn Sather. My mother is Scottish and my father is Norwegian. I am a visitor to the Lkwungen territory, also known as the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations. I am a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I am passionate about my work. Since 2000, I have been practicing in the mental health field with Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations. My experiences, as a parent and a therapist, provide me with the greatest opportunity for life long growth and development.
As a mother and grandmother, I smile with gratitude, for there is always a gift in every experience.

I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work within the ancestral and unceded territory of the Lkwungen people, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. I offer gratitude to the traditional keepers of these lands, waters, and supernatural ones.
