Consultation

I am a BCACC Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 25 years of clinical experience working in the mental health field with adults and children. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Northern British Columbia and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Infant-Parent Mental Health from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. My practice is informed by theories of attachment, early development, somatic attachment psychotherapy. I have extensive training in the Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy, Adult Attachment Interview, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. I continue to deepen my practice, with on line study at the Object Relations Institute in New York. My clinical areas are focused in the area of attachment, disrupted attachment, childhood trauma, child-parent relationship and somatic attachment psychotherapy. My consultation style is reflective, relational and developmental. I view consultation as a ‘parallel process’, whereby the consultant holds the therapist, as the therapist holds the client. This process can foster insight, transformation and growth. I provide clinical consultation, in-person or remote. Call me at 250-880-6230 or email me at dawn@sathercounselling.com to book a free 20 min session to see if we are a good fit!
